Introduction
Do you want to learn how Moroccans actually speak? Go ahead and forget about those textbooks and formal Arabic classes because the only thing you need is Darija – the essence of Moroccan conversation. We’re excited to share that we are very close to finalizing the development of the GoDarija mobile app. GoDarija will completely change how people learn the distinct Moroccan dialect.
Let’s be honest, if you have ever been to Morocco, you are aware that spoken classical Arabic will not help you bargain in the souk or even talk to your neighbors over a cup of atay (Moroccan mint tea). GoDarija’s aim is to help you learn the authentic Moroccan dialect that friendships are built around and people actually use.

Why Learn Darija?
Let’s face it – the time you used Arabic (fusha) in Morocco wasn’t too encouraging was it? I guess you ended up with awkward gazes thrown at you with polite smiles. For this kind of response, there’s a reason. Darija is the primary dialect that’s spoken in Morocco. Wherever you go, be it homes, cafes, or even the streets, you will hear people speaking exactly this.
Look at the gains – learning Darija is basically having a golden ticket. Imagine trying to grab a taxi in Casablanca, or simply wanting to chat with your neighbors, or even negotiating prices for that beautiful carpet in the medina. Speaking Darija will raise you from being treated like a tourist to being welcomed like family.
Speaking of everyday routine – Darija is what you require to:
- Tell the taxi driver “Sir nichan” (go straight) without any confusion
- Make friends to whom you can speak without being limited to just the little things tourists discuss.
- Handle daily tasks by saying “Shukran” (thanks) and “Kidayr?” (How are you?)
- Express feelings naturally: “Ana fer7an(a)” (I’m happy) or “Ana 3yan(a)” (I’m tired)
- And the list goes on and on

Why GoDarija is Different?
Learning Darija shouldn’t be a headache, and that’s exactly why we created the GoDarija app. Here’s what makes us different from the rest:
Learn Like You’re in Morocco
No boring textbook stuff here! We’ve packed the app with real conversations you’ll actually use – like how to order that morning msemen or chat with your taxi driver. Plus, you’ll hear real Moroccan voices teaching you, not some robot trying to speak Darija!

Ever tried saying “bghit” and got blank stares? Our native Moroccan teacher has recorded every word so you’ll nail those tricky Darija sounds from day one. Trust me, the difference between “bghit” (I want) and “bkit” (I cried) matters – a lot!
Learn Smarter, Not Harder
Forget one-size-fits-all learning. Our quizzes actually pay attention to what trips you up. Keep mixing up your numbers in Darija? The app’s got your back with extra practice. Already mastered your greetings? We’ll challenge you with something new.
